GREAT NEWS FOR MARRYING IN TURKEY!

Please note the legal procedure for UK nationals marrying in Turkey has been simplified as of 1 March 2014.  Couples are no longer required to travel to the UK Embassy in Antalya, all the documents are now sourced in the UK prior to arrival in Turkey.

The above information is valid for British citizens – for Scottish, Irish and non-UK citizens please consult your relevant Embassy.

Documents required to marry in Turkey for UK citizens are:

  • Passport (with a minimum of 6 months expiry)
  • 4x passport sized photos (each)
  • Affidavit of Marital Status – available for download from UK Government website (& certified by FCO in UK)

You will be required to scan and email your documents to us at least 4 weeks prior to your wedding.  As simple as that!  (Please note:  you must be in Turkey at least 3 business days before your wedding and at least one business day after).

We request that you send scanned email copies of your legal paperwork to us at least 4 weeks prior to your wedding (or when you receive it) so that we can verify the details are correct.  We require your Affidavit of Marital Status, Full Birth Certificate and Passport (nb. Affidavit of Marital Status is valid for 180 days from issue date).

Please note: we do not require copies of your 5x passport photos.

Important:  We ask that you send these documents to us ASAP as we take no responsibility for any errors after your arrival!

If you have an increase in guest numbers we can usually accommodate and they will be charged on a per-person basis. The per-person cost will normally be quoted on your original Quote and Confirmation Letter. 

Should your guest numbers drop after time of booking, you can reduce your guest total by up to 15% (based on package purchased) which will be rebated on meal cost on a per-head basis, and adjusted to your final balance.

Final numbers need to be confirmed at least 2 weeks prior to the wedding date.

Before you leave home we will schedule a meeting with you for shortly after your arrival.  This meeting will be held at our offices and we will arrange to collect you from your hotel at a pre-agreed time.  During this meeting we will discuss all the details for the wedding day, choice of colour scheme, plus the timeframe for everything leading up to your Special Day!

We finalise flower colour and selection when you arrive in Turkey.  In all our packages we offer “standard seasonal flowers”. These include a combination of local flowers including roses, lilianthus, gerbera, carnation, gladioli, gypsophilia and Casablanca lilies (sorry Cala Lilies are not available!). 

If you have a specific bouquet design please bring a colour photo with you.  Where possible the florist will meet your wedding day requests with regard to selection, design and colour.  (Extra costs may be incurred for non-standard bouquets depending on flower choice and quantity).

If you are in doubt about flower availability please ask us beforehand!

Children are priced at 50% cost of adults, dependent on venue and package inclusions.  Prices are calculated as follows for most venues:

0-3yrs   FREE  (max 5 per wedding – over 5 toddlers full child price applies)

4-11yrs   £27pp

12yrs and over    ADULT

You are required to arrive at least 3 business days before your wedding (ie do not include weekends!) and to remain in Turkey one business day following your wedding, to register your marriage with the UK Consul office.  We manage this process fully for you..

Therefore, if you are marrying on a Wednesday, you need to arrive at least the Friday beforehand to allow enough to meet with the wedding team and to visit the UK Embassy in Antalya, which takes one full (business) day.

Yes – you can book and stay in the hotel of your choice.  For travel purposes on your wedding day, we recommend you stay within the Fethiye Resort Area – which includes Oludeniz, Ovacik, Hisaronu, Fethiye & Calis Beach.  If you need hotel suggestions or distance information of resorts, please let us know!

Most of our wedding packages offer the flexibility to add or deduct services to suit your needs and budget.  During the High Season, minimum guest numbers are 20 guests for Ceremony & Reception, and 10 guests for Ceremony Only.  Please visit our Flexible Package link for pricing details and individual services.

Our patisserie will aim to create the wedding cake design of your choice.  The wedding cakes in our packages are standard 3-tier sponges (choice of fresh fruit, vanilla or chocolate).  If you require a traditional fruit cake with royal icing, we need at least 3 months prior notice and this will incur an extra cost.

Please email a colour photo of your wedding cake 4 weeks prior to the wedding. We will pass this on to our patisserie, who are excellent at copying most designs.  If you require any special decoration apart from icing, please bring this with you!

Don’t panic!  You don’t need to learn Turkish – the wedding vows are relatively short (about an A4 page) and are spoken in Turkish by the Registrar and translated into English by one of our staff as the ceremony takes place.  You are only required to confirm your consent, in English, at the end of the service and you will be prompted in English.

We also offer the option for you to read your own Vows, providing they are brief (ie less than 2mins).  These will be read by the Bride and Groom after the formal wedding ceremony is completed by the Turkish Registrar.

On arrival into Turkey we will explain the order of service, the wedding vows, and what is required of you.

CD – We have a selection of popular music on CD available to choose from for your wedding, however we suggest you bring your own selection of songs on CD for the ceremony, particularly if you have something special in mind (for walking down the aisle and following the ceremony).  If you would like us to supply your music and have any requests, please check with us first that it is available!  The CD playlist we offer for your reception is a mixture of contemporary and classic music – again if you have any special playlists please feel free to bring them along on CD or IPOD.  We supply high quality CD sound system at both ceremony and reception venues and can cater to most IPOD systems.

Live Music – our musicians are a local professional duo that play a selection of contemporary and classic music and have a diverse repertoire.  They will also do their best to cater to any requests that you may have.

Do we get to choose our own photo shots and location?  When do we get our photos?

Our photographer and videographer arrive at the venue about half an hour prior to the ceremony in preparation for the bride’s arrival.

The bride’s arrival will be fully photographed and videoed together with the walk down the aisle along with the complete wedding ceremony.  Photos will be taken following the ceremony at the champagne toast, then the bridal party will depart by private transfer for shots at 3 locations around Öludeniz.  This takes about 1 hour 15mins.  You are then returned to the reception venue to rejoin your guests, where the photography & video will continue until approx 10pm (please ensure you request any special moments be photographed – speeches and first dance, etc, before this time).

If you have specific photography requests please make these known prior to the wedding day so we can advise the photographers.

Your photo proofs will be available the following day at around noon at which time you can select your 50 photos for your complimentary wedding album, and any extra photos that you and your guests would like to order.

You will meet with our wedding planner on arrival and a hair trial will be arranged on request (extra charge applies).  This pre-appointment will give you the chance to discuss your wedding day hairstyle & makeup and ensure you get the style of your choice.  Our Salon is Euopean-owned and staffed, located in Ovacik and we include door-to-door transport to and from your hotel.

We recommend that you bring along sample colour photos for all bridal and bridesmaid hair and makeup styles required.  Please note: extra appointments can be made for mother-of-the-bride / groom and will be charged separately.

Our venues offer a selection of dishes and menus are available on our website.  Gourmet BBQ and buffet menus are pre-set.  Limited a-la-carte menus allow you to choose from a selection of dishes from a full a-la-carte menu and must be advised at least 3 days prior to the wedding.  Final menu selections will be made on arrival into Turkey and may be subject to availability and change.

The balance of your package must be paid in full 4 weeks prior to the wedding date, if paying by Credit or Debit card.  Your card details will be taken over the phone for security reasons and please note that card payments are not accepted after arrival into Turkey.  The good news is that we also offer the option to pay the balance in cash on arrival, or traveller’s cheques, which avoids the 2% card fee!  (Please note: all outstanding balances must be settled at your Arrival Meeting.). Any alternative arrangements must be made by prior agreement.  (When final numbers change or extra services are ordered after final payment has been made, these payments will be finalised after your arrival and prior to your wedding).

Please note that all beverages will be paid for in cash at the time of the wedding directly to the venue (unless you have a beverage package included in your wedding).  Prices will be charged at over-the-bar prices at the respective venues and we can provide Beverage Price Lists on request.  We do not take any responsibility for outstanding bar bills at any of our wedding venues, so please arrange method of payment prior to your wedding!  (We can assist with this on your arrival).

Can I buy extra decorations when I arrive?

Ceremony – your wedding ceremony decoration includes our wedding marquee with muslin curtains, flower decorated wedding arch, red runner aisle carpet, bridal registry table with satin cloth & skirt, satin chair covers and organza ties in a colour of your choosing. The registry table will have a large flower arrangement in your choice of flowers. 

Guests will be provided standard aisle seating in front of the wedding marquee.

Reception – The bridal table will be decorated in satin table covers & skirt, choice of candelabra, satin chair covers with organza ties, gold or silver heart table confetti, plus large flower arrangement.

The guest tables will have small candle-holders, every guest chair with satin covers and organza sashes and place-cards for each guest. Where possible a menu will be offered on each table (for a-la-carte).  We will also arrange a seating plan prior to the wedding if required. Extra lighting options including fairy lights, bamboo torches and chinese lanterns available at some venues.

Balloons – some balloon decoration is available however please note that helium filled balloons incur an extra cost and are charged per balloon.

We request that you bring any special decorations with you as we have limited supplies in Turkey.  If unsure please ask us before you arrive!

All our packages include transport on the wedding day for the bridal party.  If you require transport* for your guests please note this will incur an extra cost unless it has been included as part of your package.  If unsure please check.  (*NB: Transport includes to and from the Fethiye resort area – Oludeniz, Ovacik/Hisaronu and Fethiye centre).

Final numbers for gulet weddings cannot exceed 20 people unless by prior arrangement, and final numbers need to be advised 3 weeks prior to the wedding.

The same as above applies for all other areas…the gulets are obviously less formal so please tell your guests to bring along casual clothes and swimmers for the afternoon and a little more formal wear for your evening reception meal.  Ladies please note – stiletto heels are not permitted on most gulets!

Decoration on the gulet is reasonably limited so if you have any special requests please check with us beforehand.
